The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host an evening concert with Emily Ann Thompson on Tuesday, February 27th, at 6:00 PM at the Destin Library (Calhoun Room).
Thompson is a professional violinist and fiddler, specializing in Celtic fiddle (Irish fiddle, Scottish fiddle, and Canadian fiddle), American old-time and bluegrass fiddle, classical violin, and jazz violin. She also performs rock, blues, Americana, folk and other world music. Ensembles Thompson performs with include solo violin, strolling violin, violin and guitar duo, violin and cello duo, violin and piano duo, piano trio, string trio, jazz trio, string quartet, jazz quartet, and more.
Emily is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cape Coral, Florida. She is also an accomplished visual artist specializing in painting. Her artwork can be found on her website at: https://www.emilyannthompson.com/.
From fast, high-energy jigs and reels to captivating airs and songs, Emily Ann Thompson’s performance is energetic, passionate, and engaging to all ages. She performs traditional Irish, Scottish, and Canadian music in a fresh and original style. Emily Ann also sings in English and Irish Gaelic and adds clogging and Irish dance.
Emily Ann Thompson tours nationally and she has been performing over 100 shows per year since 2010. In addition, she has been a featured artist on several radio stations and has recorded three albums.
