This is a little exercise in sinking, and raising by making a half spheroid object in copper while making a practical tool for use in the kitchen. An iron handle makes it look very nice, and if you choose to ornament with a leaf or a vine, it can be quite elegant. Learning to set rivets is part of this project.
For any blacksmithing class please wear cotton or natural fabric clothing, long trousers and solid shoes or boots are required, long sleeve cotton (not flannel) shirt highly recommended. We supply your steel, coal, tools, working materials, gloves, eye and ear protection, plus dust masks when necessary but if you have a leather apron you might want to bring it (or buy one of ours for $50). Ages 12 and up, please.
