We will start with a plasma cut tongs as our first project in this session, once the ranes are drawn out and the jaws formed we will rivet them together and you will have a nice set of tongs for other projects.

We will also demonstrate and then you will be able to make a set of “Collins” tongs. These tongs can be made very quickly and without rivets, the perfect solution if you don’t have access to plasma cut steel or the time to forge a proper set of tongs.

For any blacksmithing class please wear cotton or natural fabric clothing, long trousers and solid shoes or boots are required, long sleeve cotton (not flannel) shirt highly recommended. We supply your steel, coal, tools, working materials, gloves, eye and ear protection, plus dust masks when necessary but if you have a leather apron you might want to bring it (or buy one of ours for $50). Ages 12 and up, please.
