The Fort Walton Beach Golf Club officially opened its new Trackman Driving Range on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, with Mayor Nic Allegretto taking ceremonial shots to mark the occasion.

  • The facility features Trackman technology in all 25 bays, a Doppler radar-based system that tracks every aspect of a golfer’s shot and displays the data on a 32-inch touchscreen located directly behind the tee box.

“It tracks carry distance, total distance, ball speed, peak height, launch angle, launch direction, and distance from target,” said Golf Course Director Jacob Hill. “It will track all of your club data, and it gives you a shot tracer of exactly where you hit it.”

Beyond shot analysis, the system includes virtual versions of well-known golf courses, from Pebble Beach Golf Links to Royal Troon Golf Club. While the system can hold 10-12 golf courses at a time, Hill said about 400 different courses are available.

“We’ll have a rotating library of golf courses you can play,” said Hill. Currently available is Bethpage Black, the site of the 2025 Ryder Cup being played this weekend

The system accommodates solo players or groups of up to eight people per bay. It also features video game-inspired courses designed for younger golfers.

  • “It’s got something for everybody,” said Hill. “I know the kids will love it.”

Users can login as a guest or create an account through the Trackman mobile app. Account holders can access data from every shot on their phone and compete against Trackman users worldwide.

The Trackman system requires no additional fee beyond the cost of range balls: $5 for 25 balls, $10 for 55 balls, and $15 for 95 balls.

The driving range is open Tuesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Clubhouse Grill will provide food and drink services at the driving range, and customers can get 95 balls for $10.

The Fort Walton Beach Golf Club, located at 1955 Lewis Turner Blvd., features two 18-hole golf courses open to the public with memberships available. For more information or to book a tee time, visit fwbgolf.com or call 850-833-9664.
