Frances Roy Agency opens scholarship applications for trade school students

The annual Roy Warner Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of founder Shantelle Dedicke's late grandfather through supporting students pursuing skilled, trade-based careers in various vocational fields.

Frances Roy Agency has opened applications for its 2025-2026 Roy Warner Memorial Scholarship, an annual award supporting students pursuing trade school education.

  • The scholarship honors Roy Warner, late grandfather of agency founder and president Shantelle Dedicke. Warner built his career through construction and carpentry and was known for his integrity, resilience and work ethic.

“Our team pours so much heart into this scholarship because Roy Warner wasn’t just my grandfather; his life shaped the values that built this agency,” Dedicke said. “Seeing last year’s recipient, Rylee Lorenz, take her first steps into a nursing career reminded us why we do this. We believe in the power of skilled work, and we are honored to invest in young people who carry that legacy forward.”

The scholarship supports students pursuing education in skilled trades, including construction, mechanical, industrial, medical, creative, entrepreneurial and other vocational fields. One recipient will receive a financial award to support their trade school education.

Applicants must be high school seniors, high school graduates or currently enrolled in a trade school program. They must demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the trades and submit a personal essay describing their passion for their chosen trade and how they plan to uphold the values that defined Warner’s life.

A committee of Frances Roy Agency team members and Warner family representatives will review applications and select the recipient.

Applicants must submit all required materials by April 15, 2026, to hello@francesroy.com. The scholarship recipient will be announced May 23, 2026, Warner’s birthday.
