HOW I WORK: A look at how Crestview’s Kimberlie Griggs balances family, farming, and a flourishing real estate business

Broker Associate Kimberlie Griggs reveals how she balances real estate client meetings, community boards, and farm life — all while checking emails before school drop-off and unwinding with family golf cart rides.

Kimberlie Griggs is a Broker Associate and Realtor with The Property Group 850 who proves that success in real estate comes from genuine connections and treating everyone fairly.

When she’s not helping clients navigate the housing market or serving on local boards, you’ll find her adding surprise animals to her farm (much to her firefighter husband’s amusement) or enjoying golf cart rides with her family.

  • From her go-to coffee order at ‘Caffeine and Chaos’ to her love of podcasts and Taylor Swift, Kim shares the routines and philosophies that keep her thriving in an industry where no two days are the same.

What’s your current job title and where do you work?

Broker Associate, Realtor – The Property Group 850

What’s your morning routine?

I start the day by checking my emails to see what all I can knock out before I get my daughter ready for school and start my day.

Describe what a typical workday looks like for you.

There is never a typical workday in Real Estate. I spend a lot of time on the phone and in my emails. I network, serve on the local Real Estate Association board (ECAR), serve on a county board and stay active in my community. I typically am a listing agent so spend a lot of time meeting new sellers or prepping homes for the market.

What’s the first thing you do when you get to work (or start your workday)?

Make a to-do list of what I need done that day and prioritize

What tools, apps, or gadgets can’t you live without?

MacBook and cell phone for sure.

Apple or Android?

Apple.

What’s your go-to coffee (or tea) order?

Large Brown Sugar cold brew with cold foam- Caffeine and Chaos in North Crestview Is the very best!

What’s your go-to lunch spot or work snack?

Wild Olive if I’m meeting clients. Hill Monkey if I want quick Thai food.

What’s one local business you love supporting?

‘Baby and Me Boutique’ and ‘Marigold and Mule’ if shopping. I love local restaurants and coffee spots like Wild Olive, Little Haven, Backhome Bakery.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

No one may remember your career but they will remember your interactions so make sure you are treating everyone fair. And don’t ever put something in writing you wouldn’t want read aloud in a court hearing.

If you could give your 20-year-old self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Enjoy the moment – don’t get caught up in all the details. Be proud of the accomplishments you have and take a second to really soak it in. Real Estate has given me some tremendous opportunities that most 30-year-olds would never dream of. And thank those that have helped you. If someone makes and impact on your life – tell them.

How do you unwind after a long day?

Golf cart rides with my husband and daughter to see our animals on the farm.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I own a llama. My husband is a firefighter and I wait until he goes on shift to add to our farm collection…then and ask for forgiveness. That is how ‘Swift’, our llama, and Sophie, our donkey, came to be.

What’s your favorite local event or tradition?

Crestview Christmas parade. I actually grew up in Fort Walton Beach but Crestview has a small town charm that can’t be beat.

What’s inspiring you right now (book, podcast, person, hobby)?

Podcasts. I love listening to Tom Ferry, Glennda Baker, Mallory Ervin, Gary Vee. I love any mastermind groups with business or real estate content.

Early bird or night owl?

Early Bird! If I make it to 9pm that’s a major accomplishment

Most used emoji?

🖤. Our company colors are black and white so I use it a lot.

Music while working — yes or no? (and if yes, what’s on your playlist?)

Yes, Anything really. I have a weird mix. Old School country, new country, Taylor Swift, Rap, K-Love.

Favorite motivational quote?

Competition happens at the bottom – Collaboration happens at the top.

Standing desk or sitting? Mix?

Sitting…but usually in the car.

If you could give any advice for someone getting into the same field as you, what advice would you give?

Get a mentor and learn something new every single day.
