The City of Mary Esther’s boil water notice remains in effect as officials await laboratory results from additional water samples collected to ensure public safety.
- The city announced Sunday evening that results and potential lifting of the boil order are expected Monday, June 23. The notice has been in place since Tuesday following emergency repairs to a damaged fire hydrant near 325 Miracle Strip Parkway.
Until further notice, all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or making ice must be boiled for at least one minute.
The boil water notice was issued after a fire hydrant was struck, most likely by a vehicle or piece of equipment, requiring a system shutdown for repairs. Contractor Jacobs completed the overnight repair work Wednesday morning at approximately 6 a.m., and water service has been restored to all customers.
The city said another update will be provided once the water is deemed safe for normal use.
