A new TSA PreCheck enrollment center has opened in Fort Walton Beach, providing area travelers with year-round access to expedited airport security screening enrollment.
- The new center, operated by Telos, is located at the Office Depot site in Sun Plaza at 419A Mary Esther Cut Off NW in Fort Walton Beach. The permanent location eliminates the need for residents to wait for periodic pop-up enrollment events or travel outside the region to enroll in the program.
Travelers can schedule appointments online at tsaprecheckbytelos.tsa.dhs.gov. To enroll, applicants need to bring a U.S. passport or certified birth certificate along with another government-issued photo ID. Names must match on all documents. The enrollment process involves filling out a form, which can be completed online ahead of time, and providing fingerprints on site.
Once approved, TSA PreCheck members can use expedited screening lanes at more than 200 airports nationwide for five years. PreCheck lanes allow travelers to keep shoes, light jackets and belts on and leave laptops and liquids in carry-on bags. Most PreCheck passengers wait five minutes or less to be screened.
The permanent center serves Okaloosa County and surrounding areas, providing convenient local access to the trusted traveler program.

I wish I had known about this sooner. I had an unpleasant experience with TSA at the Ft. Walton Beach/ Destin airport on Aug. 6th. I have flown many times before with no issues. I am 80 years old and use a cane because of hip and knee problems. After emptying everything into bins the TSA agent said he had to pat me down and could be done in private if I wished. I said go ahead although I was quite surprised as I have never had that happen before. Then he said to take off my tennis shoes. Without my cane this is rather tough to do. Because of my age I have not had to remove my shoes for a long time. What is going on today?
