To: Daily Rundown Readers

Friday’s are the new Fry Days!

Now here’s something to celebrate! Every Friday for the rest of the year, McDonald’s will be giving away free medium fries on Friday! The catch? You have to download the McDoanld’s app and make a purchase of at least $1. I’d say that’s #worthit. Click here to see where the nearest McDonalds’s is in Okaloosa County!

It’s getting hot in here

This weekend will reportedly be the hottest weekend of the year, according to the National Weather Service. According to The Destin Log, temperatures are supposed to be in the mid-90’s pretty much everywhere with the temp feeling like it’s 105 to 110. A heat advisory may be issued if heat indices reach between 108-112 degrees. For ideas on how to beat the heat and more information on the heat indices, click here.

3 Fishermen Reported Missing

3 fishermen were reported missing early Thursday morning when a family member noticed they never came back on Wednesday after a fishing trip. The 3 men, a father and 2 sons, have been fishing for over 35 years according to WEAR TV. As of today they still have not been found by the Coast Guard. Click here for more details and statements from their family.

Cracks in the New Pensacola Bridge

Work has been halted on the 3 Mile Bridge Project two separate times due to cracks in the concrete from around April to June. Apparently this type of issue is common and most likely weather related, WEAR TV reported. But in this particular case, it seems that the material was drying too fast before it made it to the job site. For more details on the bridge click here for the whole story.

Welcome Home Mary Poppins!

Ashley Brown, a Gulf Breeze native, originated the role of Mary Poppins in Disney’s Broadway version of the classic film. She will be bringing the show to the Pensacola Little Theatre on July 27th and running through August 12th! A special meet-and-greet will take place August 2nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m to talk to fans! Tickets for that event are $50.

Caution Swimmers

Remember how I just said that it’ll be the hottest weekend of the year? Well, according to WEAR TV the beach might not be one of those places you go to beat the heat on Sunday because surf conditions may be dangerous. Winds will pick up Saturday night and by Sunday the Gulf seas will likely run 3 to 5 feet. This means rough conditions for mariners and dangerous rip currents for swimmers along the northern Gulf Coast. Here’s more information about the conditions this weekend.

That’s it for this week, we’ll be back Monday! In the mean time, make sure you follow us on Facebook and the ‘gram throughout the day for other awesome shareable content!
