Smalls Sliders will open its doors at 822 Beal Pkwy on Wednesday, Dec. 10, bringing the cheeseburger slider concept to the former Hardee’s location that has been vacant for years.
- The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce and a check presentation to Arc of the Emerald Coast, the Fort Walton Beach-based organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The first 100 guests will receive Smorange slides as part of the opening day celebration.
The modular restaurant building, which the company calls a “can,” was installed via crane in early October. Franchise owner William Cone operates two locations in Ocala and one in Tallahassee, making Fort Walton Beach his fourth Smalls Sliders restaurant.

The location features a drive-thru and walk-up window, with a menu focused on made-to-order cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries, milkshakes and queso dip. The brand is known for its signature “Smauce” topping.
- Smalls Sliders submitted a development order to Okaloosa County’s Growth Management Department earlier this year for the high-traffic Beal Parkway intersection.
The Fort Walton Beach location is part of a broader expansion across Florida by the Atlanta-based chain, which has more than 300 locations either open or under development nationwide.
