Stitcher’s Quest Creative Sewing Center has reopened at 28 Ferry Road SE in Fort Walton Beach and will launch Sewciety Kids after-school sewing classes in January 2026, offering local youth an opportunity to develop creative skills through a proven national curriculum.
- The quilt shop and BERNINA sewing machine dealership relocated from its previous location inside the Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther following news of demolition.
The new location brings the business closer to downtown Fort Walton Beach, making it more accessible to local customers and seasonal visitors.
Owner Judy Musteric said the local quilting and sewing community has been steadily growing since she opened the dealership in 2015. The business has served the needs of local quilters and sewists for 10 years, offering high-quality BERNINA sewing machines, training and service on those machines, and what the business describes as the largest selection of quilting fabrics and supplies in the area.
The shop expanded its reach in 2020 by launching an online store serving quilters across the country.
As part of a grand opening celebration, Stitcher’s Quest is giving each new visitor a free fat quarter of fabric, up to 200 visitors.

The Sewciety Kids program will begin with a parent information meeting on Dec. 20 and beginner workshops on Dec. 20, 29, 30 and 31, and Jan. 6. Class sessions will start Jan. 12-13, 2026.
- Attendance at a two-hour beginner workshop is required prior to registration for the first six-week class session. The beginner workshop gives students an opportunity to get familiar with the sewing machine and complete a project before committing to the six-week program. Children ages 7 and 8 must have a parent or guardian accompany them during the workshop. Ages 9 and up may attend the workshop independently or with an adult.
The curriculum is designed to keep children engaged while learning to sew, offering projects and fabrics that appeal to modern kids. The program provides enough content for students to continue for four years without repeating the same project. Students will be engaged and working on their projects actively for the duration of each class.
Stitcher’s Quest is offering a 25% discount on student sewing tools with coupon code SC2026, valid from Dec. 20, 2025, through Jan. 17, 2026. A list of suggested tools will be provided at the beginner workshop.
At the new location, Stitcher’s Quest will continue to offer classes in quilting, bag making and machine embroidery. Upcoming special events include seminars in free-motion and automated quilting.
- Looking forward to May 2026, Stitcher’s Quest is sponsoring a four-day quilting and sewing retreat at Blue Lake Camp in Andalusia, Alabama, inviting local sewists and aspiring quilters to advance their crafting skills.
Musteric said the new opportunities at Stitcher’s Quest wouldn’t be possible without the support of local sewists and quilt guilds.
The shop is located at 28 Ferry Road SE in Fort Walton Beach. Store hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
