MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine’s fifth annual charity golf tournament raised $200,000 for educational programs in Walton County, with proceeds supporting a partnership between Seacoast Collegiate High School and Northwest Florida State College.

  • The Field of Dreams Golf Outing took place on October 13 at Camp Creek Golf Course in Inlet Beach, drawing business leaders and sponsors for a day of competition that featured a special appearance by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“I’ve always believed sports have the power to bring people together for something bigger,” Glavine said. “This event does exactly that. The support raised here today directly helps young people in our community gain the skills, education, and confidence they need to build successful futures right here at home.”

Jamey Price, JR Holden, John Davenport and Jeff Roland captured first place in the gross results division, while McKenzie Burleigh, Kristy Holditch, Arlease Ciatto and Kevin Rosa won the net results category.

Contest winners included Miranda Corchis and Peyton Glavine for longest drive, Courtney Fields and David Kapitanoff for closest to the pin, and McKenzie Burleigh for the 50/50 raffle.

  • The funds will benefit the South Walton Center, a collaboration between Seacoast Collegiate High School and Northwest Florida State College that opened new facilities this fall. The satellite campus offers dual enrollment, college degree programs and workforce development opportunities.

The project includes a new Seacoast Collegiate High School building and Northwest Florida State College building that began welcoming students this fall. A future Community Building will expand training programs and continuing education opportunities.

“This project is a defining step forward for Seacoast Collegiate High School and for Walton County as a whole,” said Dr. Tom Miller, executive director of Seaside School. “By uniting high school and college education on one campus, we’re giving students a direct pathway from learning to career readiness. It’s a model that not only transforms education, but strengthens the workforce, supports local families, and elevates our entire community.”

Callie Cox, director of advancement and donor relations for the Seaside School Foundation, said the tournament’s success reflects community support for education.

“The success of this year’s Field of Dreams Golf Outing demonstrates just how much our community believes in investing in the future,” Cox said. “The funds raised will expand access to advanced coursework, technology, and professional development, ensuring that every student, no matter their background, has the opportunity to succeed.”
