Let’s get started in Destin – Miramar Beach

Blue Marlin Golf Tournament

Century 21 Blue Marlin Pelican team this Friday, October 20th at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club for their 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. In honor of their 5th year, they have decided to benefit 5 different charities. Alaqua Animal Refuge, Lighthouse Family Retreat, Special Olympics Florida – Okaloosa County, Trees on the Coast and Youth Village, Inc. Registration starts at 11:00am with a shotgun start at 1pm. To participate it’s $150 for an individual and $500 for a foursome! All golfers will receive free breakfast and lunch. Oh, and there will be an after-party, live music, silent auction and raffle prizes.

Best of Emerald Coast

The 2017 winners of the Best of the Emerald Coast will be on display at Grand Boulevard this Saturday, October 21st. This event is the biggest street party of the fall – it’s an evening of food, fun, fashion and entertainment and with a wristband, you’ll be to sample from the best restaurants, shopping and businesses on the Emerald Coast. This event benefits the Junior League of the Emerald Coast, a nonprofit organization of women focused on promoting volunteerism, improving our community and developing the potential of women. General admission tickets are $50.00 and VIP Tickets are $85.

Savor the Season

The 8th Annual Savor the Season event for the Taylor Haugen Foundation is going to be held on Friday October 27th from 6:30 to 9pm. The event will have a stunning backdrop – overlooking the harbor from the Captain’s Deck and Sunset Deck at Emerald Grande. The event is a walk-about featuring 10-12 local chefs creating custom tastings along with wine pairings. There will also be live entertainment, and some amazing auction items- like an Indonesian Escape to Bali… yes we said BALI!

Savor the Season is put on by the Taylor Haugen Foundation, which was started by Brian and Kathy Haughen in honor of their son Taylor, who passed away due to an abdominal injury during a football game at Niceville High in 2008. The foundation has been featured on national news for their YESS program – which means Youth Equipment for Sports Safety Program. They provide state of the art safety equipment for middle and high school athletes. Tickets are $100 per person.

Pink Pumpkin Party at Silver Sands

Who’s up for a free Pink Pumpkin Party? Silver Sand Outlets is throwing a Pink Pumpkin Party in support of Susan G. Komen’s fight against breast cancer!

Sinfonia Cabaret Dinner with Chris Mann

Sinfonia Gulf Coast kicks off their 12th season one week from today with their Annual Cabaret dinner featuring Chris Mann, a finalist from season 2 on The Voice and the lead role in the national U.S. tour of “Phantom of the Opera.” Chris Mann is going to take us on a musical journey from Broadway favorites to contemporary standards… think Michael Bublé meets Josh Groban.

The evening will start at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and following dinner, guests will head upstairs to 560 Grand Boulevard, which will be transformed into an elegant cabaret theater for the performance. Continuum 1000th Show Celebration

Continuum is celebrating their 1,000th show this Thursday at McGuire’s in Destin. The band will take the stage at 9pm and it’s also Ladies Night, so you know what that means… Free drinks for the Ladies. We have no doubt that Continuum is going to put on a great show. Thoughtful Dinner Series – Jim Shirley

Food For Thought is hosting their newest fundraiser – the “Thoughtful Dinner Series” – this Thursday October 19th at 7pm. Their latest venture in the fight against child hunger is the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Full Circle Kitchen, which is now open and will be the location for this event.

This event is the first of 5 and will feature a different local guest chef and culinary team at each dinner. Tickets are $250 per person, or reserve a private table for $2500 for 8 guests. Chef Jim Shirley is the first chef to be featured for the “Thoughtful Dinner Series.” Chef Jim is a nationally recognized restaurateur and is the owner of many restaurants along the Emerald Coast including Great Southern Café, 45 Central, and The Meltdown on 30A in Seaside, Florida, The Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Baytowne Provisions in The Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Octoberfest

Put on your Lederhosen for a two day Oktoberfest taking over the streets of Historic Downtown Panama City starting on Saturday, October 21st at 1pm. This event will feature authentic German food, Arts and Crafts vendors, a ticketed Craft beer festival, entertainment for the kids and street performers and much much more.

41st Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival

It’s that time of year guys! The 41st annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival is here and it all kicks off this Friday through Sunday. As usual, it will be a great time for the entire family, with all sorts of arts and crafts, rides and games, festival foods (including plenty of fried and smoked mullet) and live entertainment on the Mullet Festival stage.

Chris Janson headlines Friday, Frankie Ballard Saturday and country music legend Tanya Tucker will close out the festival on Sunday. There is also a Free Shuttle Service. If you park at Northwest Florida State College, the shuttle will take you to the back gate of the festival.

Ladies Garage Party at Harley

Hey Ladies, ready to learn all about riding a motorcycle while raising money for a great cause? Well, Emerald Coast Harley-Davidson has you covered this Thursday from 7-9:30pm. You’ll start with the basics and go headlights to tailpipes, getting up to speed on everything from learning to ride, to gear that fits any style while raising money for the White Wilson Community Foundation.

Your $15 donation will include food, drinks and one free raffle ticket and will help go toward raise money Breast Cancer Screening and Treatment! Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the evening for the really awesome prizes being donated from local businesses as well as Emerald Coast Harley-Davidson prizes!

Zombie Walk

The 9th Annual Fort Walton Beach Zombie Walk and Can Food Drive is this Saturday, October 21st in Downtown Fort Walton Beach…and all “undead” are invited to join. This is a can food drive so zombies should bring their cans of food to one of 2 registration locations starting at 4pm. One table will be set up in front of Burrito Del Sol and the other will be at The Landing.

To play the games, zombies must register by 5:30pm. Make-up artists will be on hand to zombify for a small donation of canned goods. This is always a great event downtown with games, prizes & music for all ages. The Zombie Walk will conclude with all of the Zombies performing a Thriller Dance.

Field of Screams – A Haunted Stadium

Starting on Thursday, October 19th, The Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Pensacola Little Theatre are teaming up for Field of Screams, a Haunted Stadium! Two different tours will take place under the stadium for both families and adults. For two weeks, attendees will face off against their deepest fears as they travel the tunnels of Blue Wahoos Stadium. Terror Under the Stadium will begin at 7:30 p.m. After 7:30 p.m., no one under 14 will be admitted without an adult. The Family-Friendly tours feature a 3D Maze and will be open from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In addition to the haunted stadium, concessions will be available along with Halloween movies playing on the videoboard. Tickets to the event can be purchased at BlueWahoos.com and at the Blue Wahoos Box Office.
