Father’s Day Weekend brings whiskey tastings, dinner cruises and zoo adventures

From custom whiskey tastings to waterfront dinner cruises, Father’s Day weekend offers numerous ways for local families to honor the dads in their lives. Area venues have planned special events ranging from all-you-can-eat brunches to zoo visits with complimentary beverages.

Soundside and Gone Coastal host Father’s Day Brunch

When: Sunday, June 15 beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Where: 189 Brooks Street SE, Fort Walton Beach

What: Soundside and Gone Coastal will host a Father’s Day brunch with an all-you-can-eat spread for $25. Bottomless mimosas will be available for $15 and Bloody Mary’s for $6. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes a special vendor market starting at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 850-822-5655 or visiting the venue.

Dinner Cruise aboard the Solaris Yacht

When: Sunday, June 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Baytowne Marina inside Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort

What: For those preferring an evening celebration, SunQuest Cruises offers a Father’s Day dinner cruise departing from Baytowne Marina. The three-hour cruise along Choctawhatchee Bay includes a three-course plated dinner and live entertainment. Pricing is set at $89.50 for adults 11 and older, $48 for children ages 3-10, and $25 for infants 2 and under. Reservations are required and can be made at SunQuestCruises.com or by calling 850-650-2519.

Pre-Father’s Day Angels Envy Bottle Engraving

When: Saturday, June 14 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

Where: 1500 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach

What: The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach is inviting guests to celebrate Dad in style. Guests are invited to join a special Pre-Father’s Day Angels Envy Bottle Engraving Event held in the resort’s Tavern Ballroom. For $55 per person, attendees will receive a custom-engraved bottle of Angel’s Envy, personalized on-site, and enjoy a curated whiskey tasting featuring four premium selections:

  • Angel’s Envy Bourbon
  • Rye
  • Triple Oak
  • and the exclusive Cellar Collection Straight Rye Whiskey, finished in rare French Oak Añejo tequila barrels for a rich, spiced flavor.

The Resort will keep the celebration going on Sunday, June 15 with a DJ pool party from noon to 4 p.m. at the Grotto and Cabana Pool, followed by live music from The Velveteen at the Beach Bar from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Prime Rib Special at Fish Out Of Water

When: Sunday, June 15 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 34 Goldenrod Circle, Santa Rosa Beach

What: Fish Out of Water in Santa Rosa Beach will serve a Father’s Day prime rib special with half-price draft beer from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not accept reservations for the event.

Father’s Day at the Zoo

When: Sunday, June 15 

Where: 5701 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze

What: Gulf Breeze Zoo is offering a day full of adventure. Dads will receive one complimentary beer to enjoy while strolling through the park. Live music will be performed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

With multiple venues across the area offering special Father’s Day weekend celebrations, local families have numerous options to create memorable experiences for the fathers in their lives.

“I like the pedestrian bridge idea but I wonder if it would have to be too tall to accomodate harbor boat traffic. Very interesting concept!”

“With a rock seawall along the water it’s not a beach, just a patch of sand. Take the docks out, add some parking and call it a day”
