Man killed, one injured in Fort Walton Beach shooting 

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon, with one person dead and another injured at the intersection of Shirley Drive and Marler Street.

One man was killed and another person was injured in a shooting Saturday afternoon in Fort Walton Beach, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Deputies responded to reports of shots fired around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Shirley Drive and Marler Street off of Lovejoy Road, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department assisted in the response.

Officials provided no immediate information about potential suspects or the condition of the injured person. An active investigation is underway, and authorities said they will release more details as facts are determined.
