Okaloosa County Schools will participate in the 2025 Summer Food Service Program, providing free nutritious meals to children during summer months when school is not in session.
- The program will offer balanced breakfasts and lunches at no cost for children 18 and under at designated school sites through Summer Break Spot. All meals must be consumed on-site in accordance with USDA and FDACS guidelines. The district announced that grab-and-go meals will no longer be available.
The Summer Food Service Program targets geographical areas where at least 50 percent of children qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year. Meals are available to all children in the immediate vicinity of participating school sites, including those enrolled in summer school programs.
Families should be aware that meals will not be served on weekends or July 4. Site hours and availability may change based on participation levels, and the district recommends checking for updated times and locations regularly.
The program ensures continued access to healthy meals during summer break when many children who rely on school nutrition programs might otherwise go without adequate food.
