Okaloosa County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Tax Collector’s Office on Monday, July 21, at 8 a.m. at the Crestview Community Center complex at 1448 Commerce Drive in Crestview.
- The approximately 30,000 square-foot building will house the Okaloosa County Tax Collector and Okaloosa County Property Appraiser offices with space for additional growth for County Administrative services.
“It is important that we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our residents and that includes the necessary government facilities that will expand services based on anticipated future growth,” said Okaloosa County Commissioner Trey Goodwin, who is the Commissioner liaison to the Tax Collector. “I am happy to support Tax Collector Ben Anderson and his team who have a history of creating efficiency in government with an emphasis on a quality customer experience.”
Tax Collector Ben Anderson said the need for an improved service center stems from rapid growth throughout north Okaloosa County and increased demand for services that have exceeded the current Crestview office location.
- “The new building will also allow the Tax Collector’s Customer Service & Processing Center to relocate from its current Niceville location; this will help balance the number of current staff members who live and now work in the Crestview area,” Anderson said.

Anderson said the project requires maintaining a strong collaborative relationship between the Board of County Commissioners, Tax Collector and the City of Crestview.
“I would like to thank our County Commissioners for showing vision and leadership to prepare our County well into the next 40 to 50 years of population and economic expansion,” Anderson said. “During this project we have strengthened our partnership with the City of Crestview and County Commission in our joint efforts to always provide the highest level of government services for our citizens.”
