Florida Blue has promoted a Pensacola native to lead the health insurer’s operations across Northwest Florida in a newly created market president position.

  • Hong Potomski will oversee regional business strategy and community engagement efforts spanning 19 Panhandle counties, the company announced Monday. She brings more than 20 years of health care experience to the role and most recently served as Northwest Florida market leader after joining Florida Blue in 2021.

“Hong’s commitment to empowering healthy communities and improving health literacy and access to affordable, quality care makes her a natural fit for this role,” said Kari Regar, senior vice president and Florida market leader at Florida Blue. “We are pleased to celebrate her promotion and confident her leadership will have a profound impact on the communities we serve across Northwest Florida.”

As market president, Potomski will work with local customers, health care providers, business leaders and community organizations in the Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee markets to improve health outcomes and access to care. Her background includes strategy, business development and operations experience within hospital and payor organizations.

“I am thrilled to take on this new role and am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our members and the communities we serve,” Potomski said. “I am passionate about improving health outcomes, increasing access to care, and empowering individuals to take control of their health. I look forward to working collaboratively with our partners and stakeholders to drive positive change and advance the health and well-being of our region.”

  • Potomski holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and dual master’s degrees from the University of West Florida. She is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

She serves the community through various organizations, including Florida’s Great Northwest, Greater Pensacola Chamber, United Way of Emerald Coast, Florida State University College of Medicine, Greater Tallahassee Chamber, University of West Florida’s College of Health and Pace Center for Girls.

Her community contributions have earned recognition including a Pinnacle award from 850 Magazine, a Healthcare Harmony award from the Escambia and Santa Rosa County Medical Society, and being named one of seven Rising Executives by Florida Trend. Potomski is also an alumna and actively involved with both Leadership Pensacola and Leadership Florida.
