Registration is now open for the 24th Annual Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K Race Weekend, a charity fundraiser scheduled for February 12-15, 2026, in Seaside that benefits one of Florida’s oldest and top-performing public charter schools.
- The race weekend will take place along Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A, with Visit South Walton returning as the registration sponsor. All proceeds directly benefit the Seaside School Foundation, which supports Seaside School — a charter school serving more than 600 students across two campuses in grades 5-12.
“The Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K is more than just a race — it’s a tradition of excellence that unites runners, families, sponsors, and our community,” said Callie Cox, Seaside School Director of Advancement & Donor Relations. “Every registration makes a real difference in the lives of our students, helping us continue to provide a world-class education right here in Walton County.”
The main races take place Sunday, February 15, 2026, with the half marathon starting at 7 a.m. and the 5K at 7:30 a.m. Runners will experience an out-and-back course along Scenic Highway 30A featuring views of coastal dune lakes and beach communities. As a USATF-certified course, the half marathon serves as a qualifier for both the New York City and Chicago marathons.
Race weekend begins Friday, February 13, with the Taste of the Race, a culinary celebration featuring local chefs, craft beverages and live entertainment. Runners can pick up race packets Thursday through Saturday at multiple locations, including a race expo with sponsor and vendor booths.
- Since its inception, the race has become a primary fundraiser for the foundation, with 100% of proceeds supporting educational experiences at Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School. The school ranks in the top 1% of all public schools academically based on the Florida Department of Education School Grade Program.

“The philanthropic impact of this race cannot be overstated,” said Dr. Tom Miller, Seaside School Executive Director. “Each year, funds raised allow us to provide students with a unique, personalized learning experience that prepares them for college, careers, and beyond. We are deeply grateful to every participant who laces up for education.”
The race, recognized nationally as one of the best road races in the U.S., draws thousands of runners and visitors annually. The weekend concludes with an after-party featuring live entertainment, food, drinks and an awards ceremony.
Each registration includes exclusive merchandise from The Seaside Style, the official swag and merchandise sponsor, along with a commemorative race medal and T-shirt featuring original artwork by local artist Billie Gaffrey.
- “This race weekend is a longstanding tradition for Seaside,” said Kevin Boyle, General Manager of the Seaside Community Development Corporation. “We are proud to offer our town and resources to help make the events a success, ensuring their fundraising continues to support educational excellence in Walton County.”
Spots are limited and the race sells out annually, so early registration is encouraged. The event will proceed rain or shine. Discounts are available for military personnel, first responders and educators.
