Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort officially broke ground Tuesday on a major expansion of its pickleball facilities at the resort’s Tennis Center.

  • The ceremony welcomed community leaders, partners, and pickleball enthusiasts to celebrate the nearly half-million-dollar project. The expansion will add four new dedicated courts with lighting and landscaping, bringing the resort’s total to 10 courts.

Cajun Courts, a recognized leader in tennis and pickleball facility construction, is leading the project with completion expected in November 2025. The new courts will be available for pay-to-play and to members of the resort’s Tennis Club and Pickleball Club.

“I am very excited for our membership, homeowners, and resort guests to be able to play on dedicated pickleball courts to further develop their skills,” said Todd Hanson, director of tennis and pickleball at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. “I am thankful for working with ownership and Cajun Courts to bring more pickleball courts to Sandestin. I look forward to further growing the pickleball experience for all levels of the game.”

Sara Becnel, president of Sandestin Investments LLC, said the expansion reflects the resort’s commitment to reinvesting in the community.

  • “At Sandestin, we are committed to reinvesting in our community and creating meaningful experiences for our guests, club members, and owners,” Becnel said. “This expansion reflects our dedication to providing top-tier recreational amenities and enhancing the lifestyle our resort is known for.”

Once complete, the facility will offer tournaments, events and year-round play opportunities.
