The Crestview Police Department responded to a Crestview Tom Thumb on South Ferdon Boulevard at approximately 3:05 p.m. today, in reference to a stolen vehicle with a child abduction.

Jayla Thompson and her boyfriend Edward Williamson were selecting movies from a RedBox only a few feet from their red Cadillac where Jayla’s one year old son was sitting in the back seat.

A female, who was unknown the couple, got into the vehicle and immediately drove away. The couple both tried to get into the vehicle but were unsuccessful. The woman drove south on Ferdon Boulevard where an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy observed the vehicle turn onto interstate 10, driving east bound toward Walton County.

According to the report, the Florida Highway Patrol was notified and quickly assisted in the search for the vehicle along the interstate. Deputies with the Walton County Sheriffs Office, who were near the I-10 exit 70 in Mossy Head searching for the vehicle, observed it exit onto State Highway 285. The vehicle began driving north towards US Highway 90 and then drove into the Raceway Gas Station near the intersection of Highway 285 and US Highway 90.

The driver was promptly detained by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and identified as 26 year old Sabrina L. Livingston, who has a Crestview and a Texas address. She was taken to the Walton County Jail without incident and has been changed with Grand Theft Auto and Kidnapping While in Commission of a Felony.

The child was not injured during the incident.
