RIP to the legendary Cash Moore.

We start the morning off with the sad news of the passing of Cash Moore, the founder and owner of Cash’s Liquors, a well-known liquor chain in Northwest Florida.

  • First reported by WEAR last night, the news station says Moore passed at the age of 85, leaving behind a successful business and a lasting impact on his community.

While attending Auburn University, Moore worked every summer until 1965 when he was able to open his own bar, the Faux Pas. It quickly became one of the most popular places to be in Fort Walton Beach.

Today, Cash’s Liquors is the largest independent liquor chain across Northwest Florida with 10 stores, 6 sports bars, a Gentlemen’s club and a night club, according to the company.

  • And just like it was 58 years ago, the company is still family-owned and operated.

Get The Coast sends our condolences to Moore’s family and friends.

  1. Quite the character – and not in a good way – who knows how many illegal activities he was involved in.
