Even though The Emerald Coast Open and ‘Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day’, previously scheduled for September 12-13th, were cancelled amid COVID-19 concerns, restaurant week has been a go across Okaloosa County.

During Restaurant Week, guests have been able to sample lionfish at one of Destin-Fort Walton Beach’s featured restaurants. Local chefs have been highlight lionfish in unique dishes to help bring awareness to the lionfish invasion in the Gulf of Mexico.

This year, Restaurant Week has taken place at:

  • La Paz
  • Harbor Docks
  • The Gulf
  • Dewey Destin’s
  • Rockin Tacos
  • AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar

Restaurant Week ends today, September 11th, but you can still get out to The Crab Trap in Destin for a delicious meal.

“Mark your calendar for Friday, September 11,” wrote the beachfront restaurant. “Join us for deliciously fresh lionfish served over our signature corn maque choux.”
