Last Tuesday, the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners approved the agreement with ECUA. This agreement went to the ECUA board this past Tuesday, October 22nd.

They approved it unanimously.

According to Public Works Director Jason Autrey, ECUA was appreciative of Okaloosa County coming back and they look forward to having the County’s recyclable materials delivered to them again.

A few other notes:

  • The papers are being signed now and expect to get them back early November
  • Recycled material will go to ECUA for full processing.
  • Waste Management will hold onto recyclables and will be delivered to ECUA.

Autrey continued,

“They welcomed us back with open arms, which was quite pleasing. And I’m excited to see recycling, not only pick up where it left off, but maybe we can get a little better, a little bit better than what we were doing.”
