WSRE will host its annual Amazing Kids Day Okaloosa, a free, sensory-friendly event for families with children on the autism spectrum on Saturday, June 7, at the Fort Walton Beach Public Library.
- The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will offer hands-on learning activities for children while providing families with information about local resources.
Various community organizations will participate, including:
- Autism Pensacola, Beyond Expectations
- Lotus Learning & Arts Center
- Military & Family Readiness Center Exceptional Family Members Program
- Okaloosa County School District
- Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office
- Pyramid Fort Walton Beach
- Western Panhandle Early Steps

WSRE will provide learning resources from PBS KIDS and activities from the new children’s program “Carl the Collector,” which follows the everyday adventures of a warm-hearted autistic raccoon who enjoys collecting things and loves his friends and family in Fuzzytown.

WSRE hosts Amazing Kids Day events twice annually. The Pensacola event will take place on August 30 in the WSRE Amos Studio at Pensacola State College.
