Plans for a new yoga studio and vegan cafe in Destin has recently been announced! We got more information from owner, Allison Ragan, and here’s what we found out.

What is Roast’d?

“Roast’d is going to be a fully equipped café and yoga studio combination. Guests can look forward to a full yoga schedule with a variety of classes to choose from for all levels; including hot yoga! Roast’d will also host a run club (for all levels), community events, and work with other local businesses to combine yoga and a variety of activities. Before or after a class, run, or event you can expect a café style menu to choose from; including drinks, smoothies (and smoothie bowls), healthy bites, and dessert bites to keep you fueled and happy.”

About the Owner

“My name is Allison Ragan. I have been a Destin local for about 6 years now. I have a huge passion for yoga and coffee. I have been practicing yoga for about 9 years. I also have a huge love for the beach and beach life. I care about the community, the beaches, the sea turtles 😊 and the whole vibe that comes with it. I fully believe in taking life one day at a time. I own a local coffee business, Destin Coffee, and knew that I wanted to find a way to combine my two passions into one and share them with the community.”

A Peek at the Menu and Giving Back

“We will be featuring Destin Coffee, NaturBaker, No Cow, and SunBum specifically. We will have Nitro Cold Brew and Kombucha on tap. Our menu will include smoothies, juices, pastries, desserts, and more. We hope to grow and change our menu with time. Most importantly we will be doing “Coffee for a Cause” meaning: all hot coffee will be by donation only. We will choose a monthly charity or cause to donate all hot coffee profits to. Best of all, we will utilize a suggestion box and our website to allow people to request specific charities/nonprofits/causes to benefit.”

Why is it important for the café part of your business to be vegan?

“It is very important to offer a vegan menu at the café in order to be inline with yoga. While practicing the physical part of yoga is so common, I wanted to find a way to bring the yoga practice off the mat. One way to do that is through nonviolence – which is in part practiced with a vegan diet. Not only will this be inline with yoga, but also to create awareness – you don’t need dairy and eggs to make dessert items DELICIOUS. I personally have been practicing a plant-based diet for over a year now and have loved every moment and have learned so much along the way.”

What types of yoga classes will you be offering?

“Roast’d will offer a full variety of yoga classes. While we do not have our full schedule set yet, we plan to offer everything from beginner classes, to chair yoga classes, vinyasa classes heated and unheated. We also plan to have focused classes, such as those for runners, athletes, inversions, toning, advanced, educational and everything in between. The Shoreline Village shopping center also features a beautiful grassy courtyard where we plan to have outside classes. Also, we plan to host a daily ‘Open Flow’ period where you will be able to come in and practice your own yoga without an instructor led class. Simple meant to create space if you do not have space or a serene place in your own home that you like to practice in. You can come in while no classes are going on and practice whatever you like while utilizing yoga props, blankets, and mats.”

Location

Roast’d is located in the Shoreline Village shopping center at the corner of Hwy 98 and Gulf Shore Dr. Across HWY 98 from the Target in Destin.

📍806 Hwy 98 E Destin, FL 32541

It is Allison’s hope that Roast’d will create a fresh space for the community to experience yoga. August of 2019 is the goal for opening, so stay tuned as the opening gets closer!
